Bongao welcomes JPIC Center

JPIC ministry serves not only Sulu areas but Tawi-Tawi as well especially in terms of formation, our JPIC-BOS. Since several trainings have been conducted and JPICIANS are already increasing, the call for JPIC presence within the area is being felt and realized. This is the reality which the JPIC main office in Jolo must response positively by opening its sub-office in Bongao proper.
The JPIC Bongao Center officially started last July 2008. Although it is more likely an independent center, but still it is under the leadership of our director thru our local coordinator at Bongao in the person of Ms. Rose Serato. Ms. Rose Serato is one of the respected church leaders in Bongao, Tawi-Tawi. She is also one of the JPICIANS and one of the members of the Bongao Core group prior to the establishment of the center. Upon her being a JPIC Bongao Coordinator, she has undergone several trainings especially the so-called social mapping at Davao City to equip her with essential skills in order to be of better help in the name of JPIC.
Fr Vill updating with the JPICians during a meeting at Ungusan, Kuala Baru, Tawi Tawi
The JPIC Bongao Center as of today faces a great challenge especially in reaching out to the JPICIANS within its neighboring islands such as in Batu-Batu, Panglima Sugala, Tabawan, Tongehat, Halu Sugbo, Kuala Baro and as many as it can serve.
The success of the JPIC Bongao Center would also depend on the support especially the commitment of the JPICIANS in Bongao, Tawi-Tawi as a whole.
